In September 2024, Malaysia experienced a slight uptick in palm oil exports, totaling 1.54 million tonnes, which is a 0.93% increase from the previous month. Despite this growth, the country saw a decline in crude palm oil (CPO) production, with a 3.8% decrease to 1.82 million tonnes, and a 4.87% drop in palm kernel production to 433,785 tonnes. Additionally, there was a notable increase in palm kernel oil and cake exports, reaching 126,446 tonnes and 232,944 tonnes respectively, while exports of oleochemicals and biodiesel saw a decrease. CPO imports remained at zero, and palm kernel oil imports also fell by 20.68% to 10,887 tonnes. Overall, the report highlights mixed trends in Malaysia's palm oil industry.
