Brazil: Mato Grosso leads cattle slaughter, according to IBGE

Cattle slaughter in Brazil increased by 11.9% in the 3rd quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, according to data from Livestock Production Statistics, from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), released on Wednesday -Friday (07). In all, 7.85 million animals were slaughtered in July, August and September of this year. In the same period of the previous year, 7.3 million cattle were slaughtered across the country. In the ranking of States, Mato Grosso continues to lead the slaughter of cattle, with 15.8% of the national share, followed by São Paulo (11.7%), Goiás (10.7%) and Mato Grosso do Sul (10.3 %).
