The Forres Beltrán group is one of the most important within the refrigeration industry. It has 400 employees and processes between 15,000 and 18,000 animals per month, whose meat is intended for domestic consumption and export. That is why its members were at Anuga 2025, a fair held this year in Cologne, Germany, which closed in the last few hours.
Their main export markets are currently China, Europe, and the United States. "60% of what we produce goes to export, and of that 70% goes to China, 15% to the United States, and 15% to Europe. So there is a lot of cattle in the processing if so much goes to China," explained Maximiliano Morello, the CEO of the group.
In recent years, the importance of the Chinese market has made cattle breeding gain prominence, as it not only is the calf factory but also provides the raw material (the discard cow) for meat factories. The breeder is now the main supplier of the export demand.
"The cow is today the most demanded product..."
