Brazilian meat exporters ended 2023 with record volumes in exports of beef, pork, and chicken proteins despite slow Chinese purchases and falling prices. Pork exports reached an all-time high of 1.2 million tons, with revenue growing 9.5% to US$2.8 billion, while chicken meat shipments increased by 6.6% to 5.1 million tons. However, beef revenue fell 18.6% to US$10.5 billion due to low prices and decreased volume and revenue from shipments to China. Despite this, analysts believe Brazil can break new records in shipment volume in 2024 and gain competitiveness in the global market.
