Brazilian melon exports for the 2020/21 harvest have seen a marginal increase of 1% in volume and revenue compared to the previous campaign, totaling 112.4 thousand tons and US $ 73.3 million respectively. The increase was primarily driven by a higher volume of shipments in the initial months of the harvest. The largest importers were Holland, UK, Spain, and Canada, with Canada experiencing an 118% increase in volume imported from Brazil. However, exports are expected to decline in mid-December due to winter in European countries and competition from Central American countries affected by hurricanes.
