The agreement, which is pending approval by the Competition authorities and the corresponding administrative authorizations typical for this type of operation, will allow Mercadona to "capture significant synergies and optimize its resources even more, which will contribute to strengthening its assembly line and to continue promoting a responsible logistics strategy aligned with the principles of the circular economy," according to a statement from the supermarket chain.
