Cambodia's milled rice exports saw a 3.2% increase in 2022, reaching 637,004 tons with a value of $414.29 million. China was the largest buyer, accounting for 45% of the total export. European countries purchased 35% of the milled rice, while ASEAN member states and other countries each accounted for 10% and 20%, respectively. The Kingdom aims to export one million tons of milled rice in the year, with premium aromatic rice making up 44% of the total shipment. In addition to rice, Cambodia also exported 3,477,886 tons of paddy to Vietnam, generating $841.09 million. The government is pursuing free-trade agreements and memorandums of understanding to expand milled rice shipments. Agriculture is a significant contributor to Cambodia's economy, accounting for 24.4% of the GDP in 2021.
