REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is strengthening synergy with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PU) to accelerate the rehabilitation of agricultural irrigation networks in various regions. This cross-sector collaboration is the main driver for strengthening water infrastructure to support national rice production. Kementan together with the Ministry of PU is implementing the acceleration of construction, improvement, rehabilitation, and operation and maintenance of irrigation networks in an integrated manner until 2025. These efforts have a direct impact on improving food performance. National rice production in 2025 is projected to reach 34.79 million tons, while the government's rice reserves are estimated to reach 3.3 million tons at the beginning of 2026.
