The Moldovan government has extended its licensing regime for grain and oilseed imports until June to safeguard the domestic market from Ukrainian products. This decision, which was extended for three months to maintain price stability, was necessitated by local farmer protests and threats of disruption to all customs points with Ukraine. Since the introduction of the restrictions in October, 12 licenses have been issued for the import of approximately 69.5 thousand tons of sunflower seeds and 44 tons of popcorn corn.
