Myanmar: Mon State salt not only meets domestic demand but also strives to seek export

The salt production season in Mon State starts from December to April every year. If it rains, it will stop. If it does not rain, it will be produced until the end of May. The salt in Mon State is produced by sun-drying and evaporating seawater. Therefore, the towns connected to the sea, such as Danbyozhaya, Yecheng, and Bang Town, are mainly engaged in the salt-drying industry. The salt produced in Mon State is sent to Mon State, Karen State, Taninthayi Region, and Mandalay for sale.
