At the technical workshop "Efficiency and innovation in cattle production" organized by the Hereford Breeders Society of Uruguay, Agricultural Engineer Gonzalo Ducós, livestock coordinator of Fucrea, presented on "Winter rearing in CREA systems," providing data from CREA companies dedicated to winter rearing in the central and eastern regions. Taking data from beef production on cattle grazing land over the last 5 years, it is observed that the systems (breeding, incomplete cycles, incomplete, and winter rearing) produce the same, being one of the significant challenges for the CREA movement: "The results are tied to price and not to the improvement within the production schemes."
