MP: Avocados consume three times more water than Moroccans consume for ablution

Former Justice and Development MP Ahmed Sedki said that avocado production in Morocco this year reached 70 thousand tons, 60 thousand tons of which are all intended for export. He stated that if we consider that each (1) kg of this fruit is produced using 1000 liters of water on average, then avocados consume annually in our country a volume of water reaching 70 billion liters, meaning 70 million cubic meters. This amount, Sedki added, exceeds more than three times the amount of water recently received by the Ziz Khir Ghris basin, which was received by the Todgha, Kaddousa, Tamqit and Hassan Ad-Dakhil dams, in addition to the record load of the Ghris River, which the inhabitants of these areas were very happy about.
