Mato Grosso do Sul's global exports have seen a significant surge in the first half of 2021, with a 15.46% increase in value compared to the same period last year, totaling US$ 3.52 billion. This growth is evident across 11 out of 12 primary export categories, including soy, corn, meat, sugar, and iron ore, with soy and pulp contributions making up 40.24% and 20.86% of the total sales, respectively. China remains the dominant market, receiving 50.71% of these exports, particularly from the municipality of Três Lagoas. Despite a slight decline in pulp exports due to lower international prices, the import of Bolivian gas has risen by 16.16% to address energy needs amidst a water crisis. This growth in exports and imports highlights the state's dynamic trade performance within the global market.
