The Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) has opened a new agro-industry in Londrina, Paraná, capable of producing 1 million tons of non-GMO corn derivatives annually. The facility, part of the Conquista Agroindustrial Production and Commercialization Cooperative (Copacon) located in the Eli Vive settlement, will initially produce cornmeal, biju corn flour, yellow hominy, and canjiquinha xerém, with plans to expand product range in the next five years. The project, which received investments of around R$ 5 million, with some funding from the state government, aims to provide agroecological products at fair prices.
