Muan County (Mayor Kim San) will conduct a special inspection and examination on the violation of origin labeling for seafood gifts and presents, and high-demand seafood such as octopus and shrimp, from September 22 to October 4 in preparation for the Chuseok holiday. The county aims to prevent the unfair distribution of major seasonal products through this inspection and examination, targeting seafood manufacturing, distribution, sales businesses, restaurants, and traditional markets, thereby establishing order in the distribution and allowing citizens to purchase food with peace of mind. Dong-sik Heo, the Marine Fisheries Division Manager, said, "With the Chuseok holiday, a peak season, ahead, there is concern about the occurrence of unlabelled origins and the disguise of imported seafood as domestic products."
