(Muan=Yonhap News) The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Association and Mokpo Prison held a chili farm labor assistance event on the 24th in Gongsan-myeon, Naju, with Boramae volunteer members in attendance.
The volunteer members pulled out supports and cleaned up farming waste such as plastic and ropes in the chili fields after the harvest.
The Boramae Volunteer Corps is composed of model prisoners and those scheduled for parole, and it is an organization operated by prisons and detention centers with the purpose of contributing to the local community through volunteer activities.
The Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperative Association plans to continue assisting with rural labor, focusing on vulnerable farms such as elderly and small-scale farmers, in collaboration with the prison and detention centers in Suncheon, Mokpo, Jangheung, and Haenam until November with the Boramae Volunteer Corps.
