[Muan News] Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperative to Purchase Rice Affected by Sesame Pattern Disease

(Muan=Yonhap News) The Jeonnam Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation announced on the 5th that they discussed measures for rice supply and demand during the harvest season, among other topics, at the extraordinary general meeting of the Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperatives RPC Council in Gwangju.

Attendees, including Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Director Ik-kwang Il, Hwangsan Agricultural Cooperative Federation Chairman Kyung-chae Kim (Chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam RPC Council), discussed the 2025 rice supply and demand outlook and government measures for the harvest season.

In particular, the Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperative decided to make active efforts to purchase rice from farmers affected by the Blight disease this year to ensure that they receive disaster support promptly.

Director Ik-kwang Il said, "Despite the rice harvest being delayed by about ten days, the Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperative is responding to ensure there are no issues with public reserves and the purchase of rice," and added, "Through the 'Farmers' Heart, Farmers' Mind Movement' to create a happy agriculture and rural community, we will lead in supporting the income of farmers."
