Myanmar exports more than 1 million tons of corn kernels in the first quarter

Between April and June of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, Myanmar successfully exported a total of 1.15 million tons of corn kernels. The primary importers of these exports were China and Thailand, with India also increasing its purchases. Notably, 75% of Myanmar's corn crops, primarily from the Shan State, are exported to Thailand duty-free from February to August. The Irrawaddy Province also contributes to the country's corn exports during this period.
