Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Georgi Takhov, has requested the European Commission to implement protective measures against the importation of honey from Ukraine. This request, backed by Romania, is due to the significant increase in Ukrainian honey imports, which has negatively impacted the local production and pricing of Bulgarian honey. The minister also highlighted the impact of Ukrainian copper imports on the European market and the severe production declines in Bulgaria's sunflower and corn crops.
