Nearly 800 kilos of products without safety guarantees for consumption are seized in Úbeda

The Junta de Andalucía, through officers of the Fisheries Inspection of the Andalusian Agency for Agrarian and Fisheries Management (Agapa), has seized a total of 749 kilograms of fishery products (hake, red mullet, prawns, winkles, and crab legs) in the town of Úbeda, Jaén, during a joint operation with agents from the Seprona of the Guardia Civil. In this operation, which took place at the end of October at the Mercaúbeda facilities, specifically 295 kilograms of the species Merluccius Merluccius (hake), 2.3 kilograms of the species Chaceon Maritae (crab legs), 3.85 kilograms of the species Bolinus brandaris (winkles), and 2.5 kilograms of the species Parapenaeus longirostris (prawns) were seized, which violated the current regulations for commercialization due to the lack of corresponding traceability documents to accredit their origin and identification and, therefore, guarantee their food safety.
