The Nepal Rastra Bank report indicates that consumer inflation for the first four months of the fiscal year was 4.05%, a decrease from the previous year's 5.76%, largely due to a significant increase in the prices of vegetables and legumes. The food and beverage inflation was 5.73%, while non-food and service inflation was 2.75%. The rise in prices was largely due to agricultural products becoming more expensive in India. In the non-food segment, costs of transportation and health service were the main contributors to the increase in prices. Inflation rates varied across different regions, with the Kathmandu Valley experiencing the lowest inflation rate at 3.39%.
