A ten-year sustainable development plan for Nigeria's catfish sector was presented to stakeholders and experts, aiming to increase production by 20% by 2032, leading to a 30% increase in benefits for small-scale aquaculture producers. The plan also anticipates a 10% employment growth and improved worker health through measures to reduce air pollution and prevent deforestation. The plan, developed by FISH4ACP in collaboration with stakeholders, prioritizes better quality and increased production of fresh and processed catfish, with a climate-adapted approach to minimize environmental and health impacts.
