The Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARRI) has funded a project at Kasetsart University to develop a new peanut variety, “Kasetsart RD.1”. This new variety is resistant to shoot blight disease and has high yields, potentially increasing income by over 72.02 million baht annually and reducing peanut imports by over 400 million baht within five years. This initiative aims to address the issue of insufficient domestic peanut production in the country, which has resulted in high import costs.
