In preparation for Eid al-Adha, Muhammad Seddiqi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, has announced a comprehensive plan to meet the festival's demands. This includes the numbering of around two million sheep, the establishment of 34 temporary markets, and the registration of 210,000 fattening units. For the second year, the ministry has opened livestock imports, with a current request for offers for 600,000 sheep, a number that might increase. Additionally, a detailed assessment of supply and demand for Eid sacrifices has been conducted across all regions, in collaboration with professionals in the sheep, goats, and camels chain. Efforts to ensure the health and availability of livestock include continuous health tracking, monitoring of feed and veterinary medicines, water supply checks, and awareness campaigns for livestock breeders.
