From January to July 2024, fruit exports reached a value of US$ 6,317 million with a volume of 2.3 million tons, marking an 11.5% increase in value and a 4.2% increase in volume compared to the previous year. Fresh fruit made up 80.6% of the export value, with China being the main importer. Processed fruit accounted for 14.9% of the export value, with a increase in shipments of frozen, dehydrated, and olive oil. Nut exports experienced a decrease, with walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds all seeing a drop in shipments and values. Meanwhile, fruit imports increased by 6% in volume and 15.8% in value, with Peru being the main country of origin.
