Oil and fat prices fell by 37.1% in June (a drop 1.6 percentage points greater than the previous month) and 45.7% for olive oil, while eggs maintained an 18% year-on-year increase, according to the latest CPI data published this Friday.
Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 3% annually, three tenths above the previous month - underpinned by the increase in meat and fresh fish costs - and contributed to the increase in the annual CPI rate, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Legumes and vegetables also contributed to the CPI increase, as their decline was smaller than in the same month of 2024.
The general annual CPI rate was 2.3% year-on-year, three tenths more than in May, and the monthly rate was 0.7%.
Food and beverages became 0.3% more expensive compared to April.
