Oleoestepa: sales and lower production expectations improve olive oil prices

The good sales pace of olive oil recorded throughout the current 2024/25 olive oil campaign, coupled with a lower production expectation for the next one, have caused olive oil prices to rebound in recent weeks. Álvaro Olavarría, manager of Oleoestepa, a second-grade cooperative located in Estepa (Seville), explained in the AGROPOPULAR broadcast on September 13 that the olive oil market is currently very firm. Crude oils have risen again in the last week and are being paid between 3,450 and 3,500 euros base 1º; virgin oils are around 3,700 euros per ton depending on quality and extras are also registering new increases; there is very little oil left in this last category and the existing stocks are being paid between 4,300 and 4,400 euros, and even at 5,000 euros/ton and above that price.
