The Governor of the Omsk Region, Alexander Burkov, and the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Kim Se Un, have discussed the possibility of enhancing the long-term cooperation and mutual trade between their regions. The talk focused on establishing permanent contacts for the supply of agricultural crops, including wheat, barley, peas, oilseeds, and their processing products, to the South Korean market. The Omsk region's exports to South Korea experienced a 12-fold increase last year, primarily due to wheat supply, and the region also exports vegetable oils, furniture panels, wooden beams, electrical machines, and equipment, and carbon black. The governor also emphasized the potential for cooperation in education and science, with Korean specialists being trained in Omsk universities, and in innovation, joint investment projects in the agro-industrial complex and woodworking.
