In Samsun's Çarşamba district, the kiwi harvest has begun. The district, which has become one of Turkey's most important kiwi production centers, has producers satisfied with both the yield and the price this year. With the arrival of November, the harvest is expected to be completed by next week. Çarşamba Chamber of Agriculture President Muammer Aydemir stated that the district is the second-largest kiwi producer after Yalova, saying, "This year, prices have increased by 100 percent compared to last year. Prices per gram of kiwi range between 70 and 90 TL. We aim to take the first place in kiwi production in Turkey within five years." Kiwi Union President Hasan Işıldak emphasized that production has been increasing every year.
