A trout production facility located in Bilecik, Turkey has been exporting 90 percent of its annual one thousand tons of trout to countries like Germany, the Czech Republic, and Russia. The facility, which started its operations in 1971, has 55 ponds and two separate production facilities, totaling 1,500 tons of production capacity. Facility Manager Erdal Lip mentioned that their facility was the first aquaculture facility in Turkey and has been a pioneer in bringing trout production to its current level in the country.
