The Nigerian health authority has approved Brazil to export live cattle, buffaloes for reproduction, and milk and dairy products to Nigeria. This comes as Nigeria imported over US$875 million in Brazilian agribusiness products in 2023, making it a significant trading partner for Brazil in Africa. The authorization reflects trust in Brazil's health control system and offers opportunities for national producers to expand their business. This development is part of Brazil's strategy to expand into new markets, having opened 71 markets in 2023, a total of 149 new markets in 52 countries since 2023, a collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
