Brazil has opened its eighth agricultural market in Peru this year, allowing for increased exports of products such as yerba mate, cassava bran, coconut fiber, dried clove flowers, hay, blood products, forestry products, meat, and soybeans. The value of Brazilian agricultural exports to Peru exceeded US$724 million in 2023, with a significant portion of the exports being apples, which brought in over US$30 million. This success is due to the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), resulting in 194 market openings for Brazilian agribusinesses in 2023, with a total of 272 openings in 61 destinations since 2023.
