Opinion: Argentina prepares for a historic landing in Turkey

A few months ago, we celebrated the repeal of the old decree 322 of 1973, which opened a new stage of commercial deregulation for Argentine livestock. The most relevant and ambitious destination that was immediately foreseen was Türkiye (Turkey), the second largest importer of livestock in the world and the main buyer in open markets. However, that initial optimism came with a call to action. To transform the opportunity into a sustained commercial flow, it was necessary to overcome two key obstacles: the sanitary status regarding foot-and-mouth disease and the lack of individual traceability.
