Farmers in Bulgaria and Romania are facing challenges due to climate change, leading to difficulties in cultivating soil and inconsistent seed germination, with low sunflower yields indicating the need for change. Ivan Dragushev and Dimitar Bonin from Semenarska kashta Sadovo are advocating for the cultivation of alternative crops like walnuts, hazelnuts, and soybeans, or sesame and peanuts, which are more drought-resistant and require fewer synthetic fertilizers and water. These crops are seen as a solution to the effects of climate change on agriculture.
