Netherlands: Opportunities for the development of sustainable poultry farming in Tanzania

At the beginning of 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality received a Tanzanian delegation from the poultry sector. The mission participants visited Dutch companies and explored business opportunities. Our country shared knowledge and innovations in the field of sustainable food systems. In this way we contribute to the development of the poultry sector in Tanzania. The Netherlands plays an important role in the development of sustainable poultry farming in Tanzania. This sector is growing rapidly due to an increasing population and a growing middle class. Tanzania has a population of more than 97 million chickens and produces 4.9 billion eggs annually. Dutch companies can contribute to the professionalization of this sector. The poultry shipment to the Netherlands took place in the context of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between our country and Tanzania.
