REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of the Food Crops and Horticulture Service of West Java Province, Dadan Hidayat, expressed optimism that the production of milled rice (GKG) in his region can reach 10 million tons by the end of 2025. This projection emerged after the production from January to October this year already exceeded the previous year. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in the period of January–October 2024, West Java produced around 7.4 million tons of GKG. Meanwhile, in the same period this year, production has reached 8.7 million tons. The difference is almost 1.3 million tons higher than last year. With the additional harvest in the remaining two months, the production potential is estimated to increase by 1.2 to 1.3 million tons.
