REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PTPN IV PalmCo is implementing a sustainable approach in its business management, starting with the protection of high conservation value (HCV) forest areas. This subholding of PTPN III (Persero) manages over 14 thousand hectares of HCV areas spread across 96 locations in Sumatra and Kalimantan. These areas include important habitats for several rare and endangered species, such as the Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Tiger, and various types of endemic primates and plants. The company's operational areas are mostly located on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan, which are known as the main commodity basins for palm oil in Indonesia.
