Paraguay has been recognized by the World Organization for Animal Health (OMSA) as a Country Free of Horse Sickness and a Country Free of Contagious Bovine Perneumonia (PCB). This status builds on Paraguay's earlier achievement in 2013, where it became the first country to eradicate horse sickness, and its 2021 recognition as free from bovine pleuropneumonia, following Uruguay's lead. These accomplishments highlight the country's dedication to high animal health and biosecurity standards, credited to the collaborative efforts of both the public and private sectors.
