Paraguay has made a significant stride in expanding its export market by entering the Syrian market, as announced during the Gulfood 2024 Fair in Dubai. This achievement is part of Paraguay's broader efforts to strengthen its presence in the Arab market, with the herbal sector, particularly yerba mate, leading the way. The Vice Ministry of Rediex of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce facilitated over 20 meetings with potential clients, showcasing Paraguay's commitment to adapting its products to meet specific regional preferences, such as yerba mate with fewer sticks and powders. This expansion into Syria, along with connections made with major supermarket chains in the Gulf region, marks a notable increase in export volume and a successful penetration of the Arab market.
