In September, Paraná reached a historic record in pork exports, shipping approximately 18.6 thousand tons to the foreign market, a 9% increase from the same month in 2023. The revenue generated was US$ 47.7 million, a 25% increase from the previous month. The Philippines, Dominican Republic, and Vietnam were the main buyers. In the beef sector, prices are expected to remain high, potentially driving consumers to more affordable alternatives like pork and chicken. Despite a slight decline in chicken meat exports in the first nine months of 2024, Paraná, the largest national producer and exporter, recorded slight growth. Brazilian honey exports have increased year-to-date, with Paraná contributing 2,518 tons. Cassava prices have also increased, and the summer harvest is proceeding as expected.
