In July 2021, 18 countries were added to the list of suppliers of unsafe fish and sea products, as found by the FSBI "NCBRP", according to the Rosselkhoznadzor. The report found 46 cases of unsafe products, which is a 10 case increase from June, with most of the violations being microbiological indicators. The most common violations were found in shrimp and swordfish products from Thailand, Morocco, Spain, Vietnam, Taiwan, India, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Brazil, Great Britain, Mexico, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Turkey, France, South Korea, and Japan. The violations included excessive chemical and toxicological indicators, parasites, and other contaminants.
