Passion fruit from Peru reached 16 markets last May, less than one in the same month of the previous year

(Agraria.pe) Peruvian passion fruit exports reached US$ 4.14 million for 1,201 tons in May of this year, marking a drop of -38.4% in value and -24.9% in volume compared to US$ 6.72 million for 1,599 tons registered in the same month of 2023. In the analyzed month of 2024, the average price of passion fruit from Peru in the international market experienced a decrease of -18.0%, closing at US$ 3.45 per kilogram. Passion fruit shipments reached 16 markets, one less than in 2023. The United States was the main destination (32.4%), with exports quoted at US$ 1.34 million (321 tons at an average price of US$ 4.18 per kilogram). The Netherlands (13.9%) was behind with purchases valued at US$575,000 (221 tons at an average cost of US$2.61 per kilogram).
