According to a survey by the Korea Agricultural and Fishery Newspaper, domestic summer fruits and vegetables show that peaches and cherry tomatoes have the highest consumer preference. In contrast, purchase intentions for watermelon, Korean melon, and regular tomatoes have decreased compared to the previous year. This is because taste and price are critical factors in consumers' fruit and vegetable purchasing decisions, with taste being the primary consideration for items with increased purchase intentions, and price being the key factor for items with decreased purchase intentions. The Korea Rural Economic Institute analyzed consumer behavior for summer fruits and vegetables this year to provide foundational data for future agricultural product supply and demand stabilization strategies.
