After a period of strong contraction in 2024, the export of Brazilian peanuts started to grow again in 2025. More than 180 thousand tons were shipped between January and August, an increase of 26% compared to the same period last year. The revenue from international sales reached US$ 222 million (R$ 1.179 billion) and was 100% composed of grains from the state of São Paulo, according to data from the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA-Apta) of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of São Paulo (SAA), the body responsible for the survey. The main destinations for Brazilian peanuts are Russia (22%); China (21%); Algeria (11%); and the Netherlands (7%), which serve as the main gateway to the European bloc. For the associations representing the sector, the considerable increase in the shipment of the grain to the Chinese market also stands out, with 35 thousand tons in total, in a short period of time.
