Brazilian peanut production has seen a significant increase, with an estimated 746.7 thousand tons in the 2021/22 crop, up from 346.8 thousand tons in the 2014/15 crop, marking an 115% rise. This increase is primarily due to an expansion in the cultivation area, with São Paulo state being the largest contributor, accounting for 92.8% of the total production. The majority of the production, around 70%, is exported, with the European Union being the main buyer. However, recently, China has shown growing interest in Brazilian peanuts, potentially opening up new markets.
