Brazil is a major producer of peanuts, accounting for 90% of the country's national production, with São Paulo being the leading region. The country has seen a 130% increase in peanut planting areas over the past decade, contributing to grain exports exceeding US$600 million last year and making Brazil a significant player in the global peanut market. During the June festivals, consumer consumption of peanuts is projected to rise by 8% to 10%. The versatility of peanuts allows them to be used in various dishes and as a stand-alone snack, enhancing their appeal and making them a staple in Brazilian traditions.
