As of May 6, 2024, global pepper prices remained stable with Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, and Vietnam setting the prices for Lampung black pepper, Muntok white pepper, Kuching ASTA black pepper, ASTA white pepper, and black pepper grades 500 and 550 g/l at 4,757 USD/ton, 6,303 USD/ton, 4,900 USD/ton, 7,300 USD/ton, 4,400 USD/ton, and 4,500 USD/ton respectively, and white pepper at 6,000 USD/ton. The domestic market in Vietnam saw prices ranging from 103,000 VND/kg to 104,000 VND/kg. In April 2024, Vietnam achieved a significant increase in pepper export value by 40.4% compared to the same period last year, with the average export price reaching 4,342 USD/ton. Despite accounting for 40% of the global output and 60% of the global export market share, Vietnam's domestic pepper price was the lowest among the major exporters.
