REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman stated that the condition of chili prices, which had been reported as high, can still be controlled through inter-regional supply regulations. The government ensures that national food stability remains maintained ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru). This statement was made by Amran after a meeting with all food associations. In the forum, a joint commitment was agreed upon to keep food prices at the highest retail prices (HET), with support from stock availability deemed sufficient until early next year. “Yes, chili, small chili, but we get our supply from elsewhere,” said the Head of Bapanas in Jakarta, Thursday (18/12/2025).
