The Peruvian government has successfully signed a phytosanitary protocol with New Zealand, enabling the export of fresh citrus fruits, including mandarins, oranges, tangelos, and limes, to the country. This agreement was announced during a bilateral technical meeting, highlighting the efforts of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) and the Senasa delegation, led by Vilma Gutarra. This achievement is part of Midagri's strategy to diversify Peruvian agricultural exports by opening up new markets, backed by local production and international partnerships. With 66 countries already on the list, this move is a significant step towards boosting Peru's agricultural export potential, particularly in regions like La Libertad, Lambayeque, Ica, Piura, Ancash, and Lima, which are key for citrus production.
