Peru has successfully signed a phytosanitary protocol with New Zealand, paving the way for the export of fresh citrus fruits, including mandarins, oranges, tangelo, and limes, from several Peruvian regions. This agreement, signed by the Senasa delegation and the Embassy of Peru in New Zealand, follows a bilateral technical meeting to establish a work plan for export to New Zealand. This achievement is part of Peru's broader strategy to diversify its agricultural exports, focusing on countries such as the US, the Netherlands, England, Mexico, Canada, and Chile. The Peruvian government's efforts in sanitary and phytosanitary measures have positioned Peru as a significant agricultural exporter, with exports steadily increasing and surpassing 11.5 billion dollars. The country has phytosanitary requirements for export to 66 countries, with a particular focus on the US, the Netherlands, China, and the UK.
